Watlow manufactures sensor products to fit customer application needs. A wide variety of temperature sensors including thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) and thermistors, as well as wire, mineral insulated cable, connectors and hardware are designed and supplied by Watlow and manufactured at our fully integrated faciliity.
Watlow's EXACTSENSE® exhaust gas temperature sensor is now available with the control area network (CAN) J1939 digital output signal. The CAN J1939 output signal eases integration of EXACTSENSE thermocouples into diesel exhaust after-treatment systems. EXACTSENSE is also available with pulse width modulated (PWM), local interconnect network (LIN) and analog 0-5V output signals.
Thermocouples are best suited for high temperatures, extreme environments or applications requiring microscopic size sensors. These fiberglass insulated thermocouples are capable of temperatures up to 900°F (480°C) for continuous operation. Watlow provides grounded, ungrounded and exposed junctions on millions of manufactured thermocouples.
Resistance temperature sensors are suited for applications where accuracy and stability are essential for proper control in applications that operate at or below 1200°F (650C). RTDs, available in a variety of styles and constructions, are specially designed to ensure precise and repeatable temperature measurement for a wide variety of applications. Thermistors are ideal for applications where fast time response and high change in resistance over a limited temperature range is required. Maximum operating temperature on Watlow thermistors is 572°F
Watlow offers a full line of thermowells, protecting tubes, connectors, connection heads, terminal blocks and transmitters. All of these accessories complement Watlow’s full-line of sensors and complete your thermal sensing requirements.
Watlow's SERV-RITE® wire is used for connecting a sensor to an instrument or controller. Insulation temperature ranges from -328 to 2350°F (-200 to 1290°C).
The unique properties of XACTPAK® MI, metal-sheathed cable make it ideally suited to solve a wide variety of problem applications. They can be easily formed or bent to accommodate many configurations. Diameters range from 0.010 to 0.5 in. (0.25 to 12.7 mm).
Watlow's in-house lab services provide prototype testing for the development of the optimum sensor for your application. Watlow’s quality certification processes can verify your finished product is built to specifications set forth by leading standards agencies.
